Will Climate Change Hit Tourist Island Economies?

In the UK this Easter the two big questions to do with the climate was why was it so awful during the four day break, and for gardeners getting used to a hose pipe ban.

But for islands like Cyprus who depend heavily on tourism climate change is a much more serious issue.

Some scientists claim that in a few years time the summer will simply be too hot for tourists.

In response tourism officials are looking at ways of making Cyprus a year round destination, and with the weather predicted to be warmer in the winter, a little like the weather in Tenerife, they're making plans just in case what they are being told is right.
