An Island And Its Music

Austerity Here To Stay?

A question most people ask today is just how long will it be before the economy improves, and gets back to how things were before 2008.

The answer depends upon who you are listening to at any given time.

Poiticans will give an electorally advantageous answer, depending on whether or not they are in office - so it might make sense to take the word of people working in the finance and banking industry as their work depends upon what the answer really is.

Unfortunately it's not great news. For example at a conference in Monaco of Hedge Fund managers and others including some who work in the Monaco banks the answer is 15 to 20 years. Twice as long as most current governments will admit to.
